NEEDTOBREATHE: Into The Mystery

NTB the great rock revivalists hailing from South Carolina have been at it since 2006 and at points along the way they would tell you to a man that perhaps they were out of oxygen from the effort it takes to break through and stay relevant in the fickle music marketplace. What is no mystery is how through grass roots tactics and dogged determination they have emerged as one of the most important acts of the modern era with a fervent fan base of diehards and true believers. Their latest effort "Into The Mystery" emerged quickly as their eighth full-length studio album fast on the heels of last year's critically acclaimed "Out Of Body" which marked the departure of a key founding member of the band. Still, the clearly rejuvenated group feels that they have just dropped "the best record NEEDTOBREATHE has ever made" and we can't disagree. Friends like Jon Foreman of Switchfoot, Natalie Hemby and Carrie Underwood make guest appearances adding star power to the proceedings. In this current world of pain and confusion NTB's light shines brightest on the title track and "Give Me A Chance" that overflow with the band's finest brand of up-tempo joy. One listen to "Into The Mystery" and you'll find it's no mystery to how they've got to this point. Now, where do they go next?
